The One Voice Northeast Regional Conference and Forum

Nov 14-16, 2008 at The Westchester Marriott Hotel, Tarrytown New York United States
The One Voice Northeast Regional Conference & Forum is unique: its DNA contains the blueprint for action, interaction, activism, and advocacy for positive change in education. In San Francisco this summer at a One Voice event, groups of educators took on the task of identifying the most critical issues in education today, labored over practical, expert solutions, and presented them in an outstanding show of solidarity and active commitment to positive change. What began there is being continued in New York, then Santa Fe, San Francisco, Denver, and Seattle. You are being invited to be part of it. The One Voice Northeast Regional Conference and Forum for will be a conference experience unlike any other such event. The typical One Voice attendees are impassioned and invested in the eventxe2x80x99s outcomes, perhaps the most important one of which is the presentations by ELC (Education Leadership Council) facilitators. ELC meetings are a opportunity for educators to come together, identify the most significant issues in education from their diverse experience and devise practical solutions for them. Most importantly, the results do not become static documents with no outcomes. Rather, the results are compiled and form the nucleus and inspiration for the Declaration of Equity and Excellence, a powerful tool being written by One Voice participants for the education and guidance of administrators, politicians, and othe decision-makers in education going forward. The excellent, thought provoking results of the ELC brainstorming sessions, the hallmark of One Voice events, are dynamic, incredibly informative and confirmed the philosophy of the organization: Educators are the (SMEs) subject matter experts when it comes to improving learning and teaching, and when asked can provide the answers to the important questions. Based on the great success of the ELC meetings, and the important directives they yielded, it has been decided that they will be a part of all future One Voice events. What started in San Francisco is on its way across the country and around the world. We hope you will join us and further this important work by contributing your thoughts, your experience, your ideas, and your VOICE!
